party, q.v., and in one’s birthday suit, q.v., a common euph. for ‘naked’. Sp. Fiesta de cumpleaños (orgía; juego de palabras entre party y in one’s birthday suit, desnudo,-a).

birthday suit, in one’s. Naked. Since the 18th c.: «She looked really fetching in her birthday suit – the first time I had seen her totally nude» (CP, 108). Sp. Con el traje de Adán/vestido,-a como se vino al mundo.

biscuit, a. A sexually desirable woman. US. sl. See also whisker-biscuit. Sp. Una galleta (mujer atractiva, bombón).

bisexual/ambisexual. Sexually attracted to both men and women. OED, 1914-1986: «I mean that I am, like many artists, bisexual» (DOV, 50). Ambidextrous and ambivalent are common euphs. for ambisexual, and AC/DC, a reference to alternating and direct electrical current, is US. sl. for bisexuality, often used in ‘personal’ ads. Sp. bishop1. The penis. Likening the glans penis to a bishop’s mitre. Used in the expressions to bang/flog/bash/beat/batter/buff/flip the bishop, all q.v., ‘masturbate’. Sp. Obispo (pene, comparando el glande con la mitra de un obispo; usado frec. en las expresiones to bang/flog/bash/beat/batter/buff/flip the bishop, relativas todas ellas a la masturbación masc.).

bit1. An attractive woman or girl, esp. one regarded as a sexual object. Perhaps shortened from a bit of muslin, with the same meaning (see muslin). OED, 1923. Vars. include a bit of all right, a bit of fluff, a bit of skirt, a bit of calico, a bit of goods, a bit of stuff and a bit of skin, among others. But bit, like piece (q.v.), with which it is practically interchangeable, is also freq. used referring to a woman’s genitals, or to coition:

«There was a young lady from Spain

Who liked a bit now and again.

Not now and again,

But now and again,

bit2. The penis. The metaphor ‘the penis is a piercing tool’ is very old, as it can be found in The Exeter Book, riddle 62, 10th c. (see quot. at poker2). Sp. Taladro (pene) (euf. muy antiguo, presente ya en una adivinanza del Libro de Exeter, del siglo X).

Still often used as an insult, esp. in ‘silly bitch’, but also commonly used for ‘a lewd woman, a prostitute’. Lex. with the indication ‘not now in decent use, but formerly common in literature’. OED a1400-1956:

«She’s a damn’d lascivious Bitch

And fucks for half-a-Crown» (“The Westminster Whore”, Rawlinson Mss., 17th c., in BURFORD, 63).

bloomers. Formerly, loose trousers reaching to the knee worn by women for bicycling, gymnasium practice, etc.; now, a woman’s knee-length undergarment. After Mrs. Bloomer, a US. social reformer, who introduced it. OED, 1862-1967:

She could match the great Buzoom,15

And she strained out of her bloomers

The euph. might be older however, as there is a clear allusion in Pills to Purge Melancholy (18th c.), where we find a stanza («A Ballad of All the Trades») which tells of a blacksmith who: «...never heats his Iron [...] / But his Maid must blow the Bellows» (in HENKE, 1979).
