RESEARCH
Research is focused in the comparative study of oogenesis and early development of tropical frogs in comparison with the extensively analyzed frog Xenopus laevis. Studies are centered in the study of marsupial frogs, in particular of the frog Gastrotheca riobambae (Hemiphractidae), of the dendrobatid frog Colostethus machalilla, the foam-nesting frog Engystomops randi, and other frogs. Techniques and methodologies of cell and molecular biology are used in this work.
