  • What is your favorite sport to play? Me gusta … Me encanta… Amo…

  • What sports do you not like? No me gusta… Detesto… Odio….

Boot Verbs:

  • How do stem changing boot verbs change? They have a spelling change. For example (e-ie) Preferir  Yo Prefiero

  • Where do they change? The actual change happens to the closest vowel to the ending. For example in “acostar” the “o” is the closest vowel to the ar, er, or ir endings.

  • Can you conjugate this stem-changing verb correctly in the present tense?

    • Poder (o->ue) Yo Puedo

    • (poder) Nosotros Podemos . **The nosotros form does not change because it is outside of the boot.

Ir + A + Infinitive:

  • What are your plans for next week? (You must use a diferent infinitive for every day) El lunes yo voy a jugar baloncesto.

Gustaria + Infinitive:

  • What would you like to do in the future? Me gustaría ser maestra.

Preterite vs. Imperfect:

  • What is the difference between preterite and imperfect? Both preterite and imperfect tenses are past tense, but have they each different uses. Preterite is used for sudden past (SAFE) and Imperfect is used for more descriptive past (WATERS)

  • Can you use the verb “hablar” in the preterite?

Yesterday I talked? Ayer yo hablé. Yesterday he talked? Ayer él habló.

Reflexive verbs:

  • What are reflexive verbs? Reflexive verbs are action words that can be done to oneself.

  • How do you conjugate reflexive verbs? 1. Find the subject 2. Drop the ending 3. Add the new ending 4. Add your reflexive pronoun

  • Can you list the reflexive pronouns?

  • Yo- Me

  • Tú- Te

  • Él, Ella, Usted- Se

  • Nosotros/Nosotras- Nos

  • Vosotros-

  • When is día de los muertos? November 1st and 2nd

  • How and why is it celebrated? It is celebrated to honor and remember the lives of loved ones and ancesters who have passed on.

  • What are some differences between Halloween and day of the dead? Halloween is a holiday that is more about having fun, dressing up and getting candy. Día de los muertos is a spiritual holiday where people remember and celebrate the lives of people who have passed on.
